其實亞特蘭大市區兩天就可以逛完，不過既然是度假，就一點也不趕。

小時候在芝加哥的那兩年其實最有印象的節日不是Christmas、不是Thanksgiving，也不是Easter，而是Martin Luther King, Jr. Day。只是，原因其實跟MLK沒有很大的關係。
1929年1月15日，Martin Luther King, Jr.出生於亞特蘭大，父親是教會牧師。十五歲的時候，King跳級進入Morehouse College，1948年拿到社會學學士。1951年King從賓州的Crozer Theological Seminary拿到神學學士，1955年成為Boston University的神學博士。 
1955年12月1日，黑人婦女Rosa Parks因為在公車上拒絕讓出座位給白人而被捕。King立即發起Montgomery Bus Boycott，至此他成為美國民權運動的領袖人物。1963年King組織了爭取黑人工作機會和自由權的March on Washington。1964年，他被授予諾貝爾和平獎。1968年4月4日，39歲的King在田納西州Lorraine Motel的306號房間陽台被射殺身亡。
1986年1月，雷根總統（Ronald Reagan, 1911-2004）簽署法令，訂定每年一月的第三個星期一為Martin Luther King Jr. Day。到今天，美國只有三個個人紀念日的法定假日—華盛頓（George Washington, 1732-99）、林肯（Abraham Lincoln, 1809-65）跟金。

到了Atlanta怎麼可以不到Coca Cola的總部瞧瞧～

第一次很認真地看奧運轉播，就是1996年夏天在Atlanta的Centennial Olympics。
就因為這樣，我答應自己不管怎樣都一定要到這城市一次。所以我，來了。

不管走到美國哪一個城市的機場，CNN好像都是傳播世界消息的媒介。
全名為Cable News Network的CNN，是亞美利堅第一個24/7的新聞台，改變了政府、媒體與大眾的關係。
Ted Turner在1980年創立CNN的時候，不知道有沒預見這後來被美國國防部稱為CNN effect的追逐競爭。
之前在D.C.實習的時候去參觀過CNN的Washington studio，到了Atlanta怎麼可以不去它的總部看一下。

哦... Cambridge根本就是聰明人類聚集的地方 (笑)

Freedom Trail（自由之路）全部2.5英哩，從Tremont Street上的Boston Common Visitor Center出發，穿過downtown Boston、the North End跟Charlestown，最後結束在the USS Constitution。沿途經過十六個歷史遺址，包括the old State House、Faneuil Hall、Paul Revere's House，還有the Old North Church。
跟著人行道上的紅色漆線就可以走完全程，可是太陽實在太豔，最後撐得昏就只好放棄...

宗教跟科學其實一點也不衝突，至少《Christian Science Monitor》跟Christian Science（基督教科學派）創辦人Mary Baker Eddy這樣認為吧。
我對宗教一點也沒有研究，如果要說有什麼信仰，大概只有音樂與文字吧。可是每次到一個城市，我總會對那些雕刻細膩、華麗靜謐的教堂多看幾眼。

被波士頓人暱稱為The Pru的Prudential Tower是Boston第二高的大樓（229公尺），排在John Hancock Tower之後。Tower有52層樓，第50層樓是的Skywalk Observatory是360度環繞觀景台；Tower樓下是很好逛的Prudential Center。

這次去的時間太晚，所以就沒有能夠進去NBC Studios參觀。沒關係，I'll be back, New York！
