英國女王伊麗莎白二世（Elizabeth II）離開了，象徵著某個時代的結束。

Netflix 影集《王冠》（The Crown）即將於 11 月推出第五季。

或許一些角度和情節存有爭議，但仍能透過其中，看見她在皇室責任、國家定位及家庭事務之間的拿捏平衡，稍微接近這位擔荷王冠（有形與無形）重量 70 年的君主。


《王冠》第一季的時空設定在 1947～1955 年，以菲利普（Philip Mountbatten）冊封愛丁堡公爵（Duke of Edinburgh）的儀式、與伊莉莎白公主的婚禮開始。

透過大量的對白、細微的肢體語言，第一季呈現父親喬治六世（George VI）驟世後、沒有時間哀傷就被迫立刻接下一切的伊麗莎白女王。


國家議會的規矩、社會輿論的譁然與家庭親情的牽絆，該怎麼選擇？雙贏或雙輸，可能只是一線之間。

在華麗與權力的表徵之下，看似擁有一切，卻做什麼都只為符合他人的期待，所謂上帝賦予的責任，在 21 世紀的現在，是否能夠重新定義？


如同劇中祖母瑪麗王后（Mary of Teck, Queen Mary）寫給即將從公主「轉變」為女王的伊麗莎白：
Elizabeth Mountbatten ... has now been replaced by ... Elizabeth Regina.
The two Elizabeths will frequently be in conflict with one another.
The fact is, the Crown must win. Must always win.

王權是所有事情的最後答案。

在伊麗莎白掙扎於如何處理所謂的 duty 責任，是該 to do，還是 not to do 的時候，瑪麗王后這麼告訴她：
To do nothing is the hardest job of all, and it will take every ounce of energy that you have.
To be impartial is not natural, not human.
People will always want you to smile or agree or frown, and the minute you do, you will have declared a position, a point of view.
And that is the one thing as sovereign that you are not entitled to do. 


雖然有英國皇室的文化資源協助（製作團隊特准參考女王的私人日記），《王冠》終究是影集，為了戲劇張力，在重現事實的主線外，也有小說式的人物及場景。

首相邱吉爾（Winston Spencer-Churchill）的秘書 Venetia Scott、伊麗莎白女王為應付政治會面而找的家教 Professor Hogg，都是第一季的虛構人物。

Scott 因為 1952 年倫敦霧霾（Great Smog of London）而遇上的死亡車禍、伊麗莎白二世為讓妹妹瑪格麗特公主（Princess Margaret）與心愛人結婚來回奔波的立場轉折、瑪格麗特公主與湯森上校（Group Captain Peter Townsend）分手聲明的處理方式，都與現實有所出入。

美國國家檔案和記錄管理局（National Archives）的資料顯示，當年女王已經與首相艾登（Anthony Eden）達成共識， 讓瑪格麗特公主能夠與湯森上校結婚，同時保有她的皇室身份及零用金，也不需要流亡他國。而公主與上校的分手聲明，是公主發表的，而非影集所表現，上校的公開演說。


《王冠》全劇預計六季，共 60 集。

隨著故事時間線的推移，《王冠》的伊麗莎白二世也交予不同演員詮釋－－首兩季的克萊兒．芙伊（Claire Foy）、接續的奧莉薇亞．柯爾曼（Olivia Colman），和即將登場的伊美黛．史道頓（Imelda Staunton）。

這部艾美獎、金球獎、衛星獎的最佳影集即將推出第五季，非常期待。
