國家自然科學博物館旁的國家美國歷史博物館從2006年九月五日開始就要閉館整修，預計要到2008年11月才會再開放。所以這個閉館之前的週末說什麼也得往它奔去，只是... 我真的需要一雙自動溜冰鞋啦！


這個Smithsonian Institution在The National Mall上的第六個建築物，1964年開幕時候的名字是Museum of History and Technology，1980年才改為National Museum of American History。博物館定位在蒐藏、保存與研究與亞美利堅文化歷史發展相關的物件。

 Julia Child's Kitchen @ National Museum of American History
Julia Child的The French Chef大概是收視成績單最亮眼的美食節目吧。雖然她不是第一個將廚房的洗切炒烤搬上電視螢幕的美食家，卻是第一個將攝影機帶進自己家廚房的主廚。2001年Child將她14*20的寬敞廚房交給了Smithsonian Institute。為了抓緊時間，她常用的鍋碗瓢杓都掛在隨手就可以拿到的牆上。只是我很好奇，它們難道都不會掉下來嗎？
