No matter what, I need my books, especially after a long day.
雖然忙碌，書本卻是我無法丟掉的必需，就算是一、兩頁，也是必需。閱讀的進度大為delay，但至少捧著書本的時候我，什麼都可以不去想。

其實是個很沉重的故事，拖了近五個月才看完..... 如果每個人都有不願再記起的過去，為什麼虹影要將這樣的不堪化為文字？我也許無法全然理解，但我知道書寫是治療的過程。母親非婚生下虹影後，整個家族遭受到的鄙夷對待，造成幾個兒女為生存而扭曲的人性；他們各自隱藏的黑暗與愛，讓我在閱讀的過程，不時得停下來大口呼吸。

【摘句】
．人都是憑第一印象判斷，而第一印象往往誤事，甚至是一生最不能錯的事。
．生活的殘酷，常常是由我們最親愛的人導致的。

因為很喜歡《莎拉的鑰匙》所以閱讀《母親的守密者》，最後卻是失望。小說結構不若《莎拉的鑰匙》完整，故事性也略為單薄，但也許就像整部小說要說的：事實往往不如我們所想，也有時候會傷人。Sometimes we just have to let go.....

‧有時候不知道事實往往比較好過。有時候事實很傷人。

跟《真愛挑日子》（One Day）類似，《我一直都在》透過超過45年的email、信件和簡訊的書面形式來敘述故事。有些片段看似荒謬，細想卻是再寫實不過，所以我們之間最好的方式也許是從此完全地切割。故事的結局如此美好，但終究它是部小說。我想我可以忘記，別再對我說以前、現在，或未來。

在這個資訊快速流逝、是非開始混沌的世代，當我們question現在孩子的價值觀怎麼如此超齡早熟、卻無法對自己人生下任何定義的時候，其實要檢討的是我們給了孩子什麼。Picoult以她熟悉的手法，在不指責不評判的原則下，點出我們看到的冰山一角。我們太習慣以二元化歸論這個世界，也太時常被表徵面帶領錯誤解讀，如果不深究，這個社會就好像一個隨時會破滅的泡泡。在孩子成長的過程，適時的陪伴和適時的放手，才能教養出獨立思考的世界公民。

明知道是虛構的故事，說書者卻可以帶著閱讀者在600年的時空差異之間，屏氣凝神。有些《達文西密碼》的手法，但多了莎士比亞的風格，成就了茱麗葉的現代愛情。
